QuranExplorer : Listen and recite Quran online with translation

This is month of Ramadan, the month of Quran as mentioned in holy Quran. I’ve come across another very beneficial web Islamic software this time, which is Quranexplorer.com, Quran explorer is a very user friendly and simple web application that lets the user to recite and listen to Quran online, with synchronized Arabic streaming audio recitation and translation transcript. Fantastic isn’t it

Quran explorer has the audio recitation of world renowned Quran recitors such as Abdul Basit, As-Sudays shraym, Khalid Husari, Mishari Rahisd ( Alafasy), Saad Al ghamdi, Sheikh Ahmed Ajmi and Sheikh Al Huzaifi.

A key feature of Quran explorer is that it has Audio translation of English and urdu languages within Arabic recitation. Although audio translation is only available for Urdu and English languages but translation text/transcript is available in Deutch, English ( Dr. Mohsin), English ( Picktahal ), English ( Yusuf Ali ), French, Indonesian, Malaysian, Spanish, Turkish, Urdu ( Ahmed Ali ) and Urdu ( Jalandhary ) languages.

Quran Explorer is very fast to load, and its is snappier ( because of streaming audio and web 2.0 programming style ) while recitation and between highlighting of verses. Since audio recitation is synchronized with Arabic and translation transcript, speed is a key factor. There is a zoom in and zoom out functionality which increases or decreases both Arabic and translated text, along with search feature which searches the English translation of Quran.There is a print preview option which lets you print the Arabic and translated transcript in a printer friendly way.

If you register with the site and sign in, Quran Explorer sets and tracks how much Quran you have explored and how much is left. There is a small chart feature available which displays the tracking information along with target and elapsed information. Those who are interested in Arabic Quranic Tajweed there is a feature which turns theTajweed on in the Arabic transcript of Quran in different colors with legend available at bottom.

Among other useful options are verse repetition, Auto play configuration, Automatic Bookmarking, inter verse pause interval setting and font colors which makes this application very powerful and user friendly.

In short I am impressed with this application, and strongly suggest it to all Muslims. Unless you do not want to download the full Quran audio on your PC and use it without internet connectivity, this is a very strong alternate.
